About this output

Each frame shows one month of CHIRPS rainfall as a percentage of the 1991 to 2020 normal for that month across a three-degree square spanning southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. The exceptionally wet October to December 2023 short rains, associated with El Niño and a positive Indian Ocean Dipole, are clearly visible.
