Aerial and satellite imagery data for Iceland

Partial open imagery Open orthophotos or high-resolution imagery exist, but only for limited areas such as regions or cities.

Current national aerial orthophoto coverage comes from the private company Loftmyndir ehf; no open licence was found. Náttúrufræðistofnun publishes historical aerial orthomosaics (1974–2000, typically 50 cm) under CC BY 4.0. It also serves a 25 cm near-infrared false-colour aerial basemap over WMS. Coverage is partial, and no licence is stated in the metadata.
