LiDAR and elevation data for Italy

Partial open LiDAR Openly licensed LiDAR exists, but only for limited areas such as states, provinces, cities or project sites.

Italy has no single national LiDAR survey. The Ministry of Environment's Piano Straordinario di Telerilevamento (PST) LiDAR DTM and DSM, flown along rivers and coasts, are downloadable from the Geoportale Nazionale under CC BY 4.0. Several regions and autonomous provinces publish their own open LiDAR, notably Friuli Venezia Giulia (region-wide 2017–2020 helicopter survey at about 16 points/m²), Emilia-Romagna (0.5 m DTM from the RER2022 programme), Toscana, Bolzano/Bozen and Trento.
