LiDAR and elevation data for Spain

National open LiDAR Openly licensed LiDAR covers about 70% or more of the land area.

PNOA-LiDAR has covered all of Spain three times: 2009–2015, 2015–2021 and 2022–2025. Point density rose from 0.5 to 5 points/m², and RMSE Z improved from 40 cm to 10 cm. CNIG distributes classified LAZ point clouds and derived DTMs (including 0.5 m and 2 m) and surface models free under CC BY 4.0. Several autonomous communities add their own denser flights: Catalonia (≥8 points/m², 2021–2023), Navarra (2011–2024) and the Basque Country (2008, 2012, 2017).
